New Chaithya (Pagoda) Project
Dear Devotees, and Friends of the Temple,
We are blessed to share the wonderful news of our new project at the Temple, made possible by the esteemed blessings of the Venerable Monks, the Trustees, and the unwavering support from the Dayaka Sabha, the devoted Temple community, and our dear friends.
Together, we are embarking on a momentous endeavor – the addition of a majestic Pagoda (Chaithya) and a sublime Buddha Statue to our beloved Temple.
Ceremony to lay the Foundation Stones for the Chaithya (Pagoda) was held on Sunday the 25th of June 2023 headed by the esteemed Chief Abbot of the Temple, Ven. Kulugammana Dhammawasa Thero, alongside the participation of Ven. Dr. Mawarale Bhaddiya Thero, the Venerable Monks, and our cherished friends and devotees.
It is with great joy that we invite you to join us in celebrating the new milestone of the history of our Temple, and contribute to the project.

An Introduction to Buddhi
What is religion?
Religion, as understood in the West,is defined in the English Oxford dictionary, as the belief in and worship of many gods (polytheism) or one God (monotheism). Buddhism is not such a belief or worship. Therefore some writers point out that Buddhism is not a religion but an atheistic philosophy. They even equate Buddhism with Marxism as a philosophy.
A General Introduction to Meditation
By Bhikkhu Dr. Saranapala
Buddhist Chaplain, University of Toronto
Nowadays people around the globe have become fascinated with meditation. They speak about the "coolness" and instant benefits of the practice of meditation. Since everybody is talking about it based upon some initial experiences, there are many expectations of its benefits. Even medical doctors are prescribing meditation as the best medication, as a remedy to all physical and psychological illnesses. Psychologists and psychotherapists recommend meditation practice to their clients as a remedy for their problems.
